“Stuff, indescribable junk is what I’m attracted to. Decades of basement detritus and waste presenting itself at its most vulnerable: filthy, rusty, broken and misshapen; the last stop before the trash. It is their history that I honor and embrace.”

The pieces begin with a piece of salvage that the artist is attracted to rather than a fixed idea of something trying to be built. As the pieces come together – they are never altered in any way – a new “life” is resurrected from a previous one. Importantly, the process requires that all the parts balance as the construction evolves; it allows for the flexibility and fluidity of finding just the right part. All of the work presented in the show is assembled in this way.
